Home schooling works because of the parents’ strong commitment to their children and the depth of relationship which that commitment instills. Whatever curriculum parents choose they should make steady interaction and dialog with their children. Children will learn brilliantly in home school because of parents’ relationship with them and because of the nature of teaching.
Home schooling parents can always talk with other home schooling parents about what curricular materials have worked for them and why. They can make notes about the good points and bad points of their current curriculum. They should not dread the process of choosing curriculum as academics is only a part of the home schooling equation.
