| Motivations to Home School | Home schooling is not new. But in recent years the interest has been increasing and even people who never thought about this type of education are more and more intrigued by the idea.
The important question which remains is what makes people want to home school their children? There is no simple answer to this question. Home schooling families decide to keep their children out of conservative, public or private schools and take all responsibility for their education because of many reasons:
1. Religious reasons. For some families, religion is a serious reason to choose home schooling. Parents feel that their children do not achieve moral training and religious values in public schools. Home schooling gives children an opportunity to value religious and family’s special days, plan and celebrated them together.
2. Health reasons. Some children are home schooled because of health problems making them to miss school for a long period of time. It is easy to catch It is easy to catch an illness at school as it can simply pass from child to child in the classroom. Of course it is impossible to avoid all illnesses by home schooling, but their amount can be reduced.
3. Dissatisfaction with public schools. Many parents consider public schools are chaotic, noisy and unproductive for their children. Besides, some parents have found that teaching and learning methods in public schools are ineffective.
4. Negative impact of public school. Some people home school their children in order to keep them from the negative social aspects of public schools such as peer pressure and drugs.
5. Excellent education. Children learn more efficiently and their standard test results are better then of students educated in public schools. That is because children have more time for deep studying than what it is allowed in school. They also have an opportunity to study subjects that are not usually taught in their school.
