If your child uses images, pictures and colors to arrange the information and communicate with others, he or she is definitely the visual learner. Here you can get to know how to teach your visual learner.

The Visual Learner

visual_learnerIf your child is a visual learner he or she always uses the visual style and choose using images, pictures, colors, and maps to systematize information and communicate with others. Your child can easily imagine objects, plans and outcomes in his or her mind. He or she also has a good sense of space, which gives him or her an excellent sense of direction. Your child can also easily find his or her way around using maps.

If a child is a visual learner, parents should use images, pictures, color and other visual media to help them in learning and incorporate much imagery into their visualizations.

Parents may find that visualization comes easily to them. This also means that they may have to make their visualizations stand out more. This makes sure new material is obvious among all the other visual images they have floating around inside their head. Parents also should use color, layout, and spatial organization in their  associations, and use many “visual words” in their assertions. It is also  recommended to use mind maps or color and pictures in place of text, wherever possible.

Systems diagrams can help parents visualize the links between parts of a system, for example main engine parts or the principle of sailing in balance. They should replace words with pictures, and use color to highlight main and minor links.

The visual journey or story technique helps a child memorize content that is not easy to understand. The visual story approach for memorizing procedures is a good example of this.
